Cloak of Deceit will be FREE from January 23-26th, 2016!
This is your last chance to read the first book for free
before I start posting the serialized second novel.
To whet your appetite, here is an exclusive excerpt…
I’m moving “Mystic Monday” to later this week so that I can share a special announcement: It’s here! It’s finally here! The first book in my new contemporary fantasy series, The Zyne Legacy has finally arrived on the Kindle shelf!
I’m so excited about these stories and this world. I’ll be releasing five Zyne books over the course of the next 18 months, so I hope that readers love the universe and characters as much as I do.
It is with great pleasure that I unveil the cover of my next book! Rain of Ash is the first book of my Skydancer series – contemporary fantasies set in the Zyne Legacy universe of reincarnating witches, soul-sucking wraiths, and immortal half-demon shifters. It will be out on this Summer Solstice, June 21, 2015. I have lots of fun extras for the Zyne Legacy that I will be adding to the site between now and then, including the full paperback cover, but here is your preview. 🙂

Available June 21, 2015
When her grandmother and sister die in a tragic accident, world-touring pianist Briana Spurrier returns to her small island roots after seven years abroad. Since she chose not to follow the path of her heritage as a reincarnating witch, Bri expects to tie up loose ends and move on with her “normal” life and career. Instead, a spell cast in her grandmother’s dying moments triggers her Oracle powers and reveals a curse that has plagued her bloodline for generations. A magical relic Bri once died to protect is now in her possession again, and an ancient enemy has resurfaced to collect it…and her soul.
Unprepared and untrained, can Bri decipher her chaotic visions in time to stop the demon of her past from claiming her last loved ones? Or is she doomed to echo mistakes she made centuries ago?
Happy Writing Wednesday!
Many years ago, when I first started blogging, I did all sorts of posts on actual writing technique aimed at newbie writers. This time around, I will leave that to the experts, though I will probably do a round-up of my favorite craft books at some point and maybe occasionally offer public
floggingscritiques, if there’s interest. The writing posts for this blog will be more about my steps/journey into the indie publishing world and my take on the writing “lifestyle.”
So…I published my first book. I equate this to setting up a virtual “shop” on the web. I have a storefront (my Amazon author page), I have signage (my blog, twitter, goodreads) pointing people to my shop, and I have one product to sell (my book).
Happy, happy day!!!
I knew it was going to be good. I slept in, but somehow made it to work on time. All the lights were green. It was nothing but good songs on the radio, no commercials. Then I found out my official release is now available in the Kindle store!!!
I did it!!! My first indie-published title is now available through Amazon (exclusively, for now) at the links listed below. I will be writing a post for next Weds on what steps I took to turn an old dusty manuscript on my word processor into a shiny new e-book for $0, as well as all the resources I used. The entire process was pretty painless, and I have to say, I’m pretty proud of myself!
Welcome to Fiction Friday, where I will post excerpts of my books, current projects, or occasionally short pieces of fiction from my brain that won’t be published anywhere else. Today, in honor of my upcoming release, I’m posting a little snippet from Cloak of Deceit, my new adult urban fantasy romance, which should be published by the time the Seahawks win their second Superbowl!!! 😉
Since I’m a one-woman-show, I spent several hours doing the formatting the past few nights and finally uploaded it to Kindle Direct Publishing last night at 10pm. I’ll do a full post on that adventure next week. This first book is a steep learning curve, and I want other indie authors to be able to follow in my tracks (assuming I’m successful – ha!).
For now, here’s an excerpt from Chapter Seventeen of Cloak of Deceit. You can download the first three chapters here. Please sign up for my newsletter if you want to be notified when the book is available for purchase on Amazon! Happy Friday! And GO HAWKS!!!
